Robert Half Medical Billing Specialist in Lynnwood, Washington

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist with expertise in Epic software to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes, handling insurance claims, and maintaining up-to-date records. This role requires strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, insurance guidelines, and proficiency in Epic systems. Key Responsibilities: Billing Operations: Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies via Epic. Review and process patient bills, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer requirements. Resolve billing discrepancies and denials by conducting thorough account analysis and re-submitting claims as necessary. Insurance and Patient Interaction: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility. Communicate with insurance companies and patients to resolve billing issues. Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing statements and account status in a timely and detail oriented manner. Data Management: Maintain accurate records of patient billing information, payments, and account status in Epic. Update patient information in the system as needed, ensuring all data is current and accurate. Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other legal requirements. Document all interactions and transactions related to patient accounts and billing activities. Stay updated on changes in billing codes, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations. Requirements Qualifications: Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing. Proven experience working with Epic software is required. Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in Epic billing modules and navigation. Strong understanding of medical terminology, billing codes (ICD-10, CPT), and insurance processes. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and billing processes. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
